Vocal/ (and) instrumental relation of melody performed by accordionists in Vojvodina
The accordion is present in the area of Vojvodina since the 20th century and it became the traditional musical instrument of Serbian people as well as
the numerous national communities. All important events for individuals or the community as a whole, including seasonal work, are accompanied
by this instrument.
The vocal melodies of various styles and traditional instrumental works or melodies by well - known authors are played on the accordion.
Due to technical features of the instrument it is possible for one or more performers to sing accompanied by the accordion, including the accordionist
himself. As a result of a long-term study of the accordion the author, for the first time, points at the phenomena -relation between the voice and the
accordion - in past and present time. The proof for the past time is the records and sound tracks by old accordionists in Vojvodina, and for the present
situation we have this research of the author.
Taking in account the time distance, the author studies the style and the construction model of performing vocal/ (and) instrumental melodies.
At the same time the author considers the similarities and differences in performing of the members of various national communities at present time.
Applying different methodical procedures the author of this work tries to reach the results which will clarify this problem in the area of Vojvodina,
the problem which hasn't been studied yet. Special attention will be paid to explaining the phenomena of vocal and instrumental interpretation,
and furthermore, to psychological, social, cultural, and economical aspects, as well as the attitude of the accordionists themselves.
